Product Description
Type | Fountain pen with vacumatic filling system |
Product Name | Parker Vacumatic ... these lined cap bands are called "Stacked Coin" bands or "Jewelers Bands." You see them fairly often on Parker 51s, but not so much on Vacumatics. |
Manufacturer and Year | Parker - 1941 (the body is dated 1941 -- a 1 with no dots -- and the nib is dated 5.) We thought that single jewel Vacs didn't get started until 1942, but this one is dated the last quarter of 1941. Of course, it could have had a double jewel blind cap originally ... these stacked coins caps appeared between 1937 and 1941, so the cap and barrel may have started out together. |
Length | 5 inches. |
Filling System | Vacumatic filler is in good working condition. We replaced the diaphragm and thoroughly tested the pen. |
Color | Golden pearl body and cap with gold filled trim-- good visibility thru the body. |
Nib | Parker USA 5 fine nib. Writes smoothly with a good line. Lots of tipping material in evidence, the nib looks almost like new |
Condition
|
The pen body is excellent with only fine scratches and marks. The imprint is strong and readable. The cap is excellent with no cracks. The cap band is excellent, though the clip shows some brassing along the upper "shoulders" upon close examination. The jewel is black and in good condition. The blue enamel is largely gone from the diamond, but we'll be happy to re-touch it if you like (just send a message after you've bought it). We restored the pen and replaced the diaphragm. We'll guarantee it for the period of a year. This is a great pen which should be a dependable writer for years and years to come. |
