Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Vacumatic Junior Debutante
Manufacturer and Year Parker, USA -- 1938 (The date code is a clear 8 with one dot which could be 1938 or 1948. It has the late plastic plunger system, but the blind cap predates that and the star clip was only used in 1938 and 1939. 1938 is also the year the Junior Debutante came out).
Length 4-11/16" slightly smaller than Debutante size
Filling System Vacumatic filling system, restored here at Peyton Street Pens. This is the late plastic plunger version and would not be the original filling system.
Color Emerald Pearl bands alternating with semi-transparent amber bands. It has gold filled trim and a short star clip. Cap band is a more elaborate version of the more common chevron pattern. This mix of chevrons and diamonds was originally on the Junior Debutante, this pen, but was later used for the blue diamond clip debutantes. The pen has two emerald pearl jewels.
Nib BROAD 14k nib. It has tons of tipping material. It is quite unusual to find a Vacumatic with a nib of this size.
Condition Excellent condition. The barrel transparency is good and the imprints are a bit faded, but legible. The pen has handwear and some microscratching around the barrel imprint. The trim looks good with the naked eye, but does have wear. No cracks, chips, or dents. It's fully restored and working well.
