Product Description
Type Vintage Vacumatic filling fountain pen.
Product Name Vacumatic Junior. The Junior is more or less the same size as the Major, however it has two thin cap rings and a "split arrow" clip as opposed to the Blue Diamond clip.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- 1940s (there are no imprints on this pen to indicate the date, but the plastic plunger was introduced in 1942, and the retaining collar is metal. Parker switched to making the retaining collar in plastic from 1943 or 1944, and went back to metal after the end of the war).
Length 5-1/8".
Filling System Later Vacumatic filling system. We have fully restored it with a new diaphragm and it's working perfectly. It has the plastic plunger.
Color Golden Pearl brown striped finish with gold plated trim and a black cap jewel. Thin double cap band and a split arrow clip.
Nib FINE gold arrow style Parker USA nib. It's smooth with nice tipping, and is fairly springy. No markings on the feed.
Condition Very nice condition. The cap bands have noticeable plating wear, but no brassing, and the clip is slightly bent near the end. There is a chip in the material, as well as some scratches and toothmarks, on the blind cap. The imprint is partially legible and the pen has average handwear. The barrel transparency is good.
