Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Parker Vacumatic Long Major
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- 1942 (the date code on the barrel is a clear 2 with one dot.)
Length 5-5/16, the Major from this time is about 5-1/8".
Filling System Vacumatic plunger filling system has been restored here at Peyton Street Pens and is working well. This has the late plastic plunger system.
Color Laminated Black body and cap with gold plated trim. It has alternating black bands and semi-transparent amber bands. The cap has a black cap jewel and a jeweler's, stacked coins, patterned cap band just over 1/8". It has a blue diamond clip.
Nib FINE 14k nib. It is smooth and springy with nice tipping material. The nib is a narrow fine. The feed has an A on it, which means it is a non-standard feed. The original two-tone masking looks very good and the date code on it is a 2, which matches the barrel perfectly.
Condition Excellent condition. The imprint on the barrel is crisp and the barrel transparency is very strong. There isn't much plating wear and no real scratches. Microscratching can be found throughout. No cracks, chips, or dents. It's working well.
