Type Fountain pen
Product Name Parker Vacumatic "Long Major", it is the same width as a Major but is longer.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in Canada -- 1943 (the date code is a clear 3 with two dots).
Length 5-5/16", about 1/4" longer than a Vacumatic Major or Junior.
Filling System Vacumatic plunger filling system has been restored here at Peyton Street Pens and is working well. This has the late plastic plunger system.
Color Azure Pearl body and cap with gold plated trim. It has alternating blue-gray pearl bands and semi-transparent amber bands. The cap has a black cap jewel and a chevron patterned cap band just over 1/8" wide. It has a blue diamond clip.
Nib SEMI-FLEXIBLE FINE 14k nib. It is smooth and extra springy with nice tipping material. It offers good line variation between a narrow fine and a wet broad. Please see the writing sample below. The second tone masking is still present, but there are some spots where it's been polished away.
Condition Excellent + condition. The cap band is a tiny bit loose and can be made to spin, but it's still secure in its groove. The barrel has some horizontal marks from capping. The rest of the pen has light handwear. The barrel transparency is good and the imprint is clear. The trim has minimal plating wear.
