Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Parker Vacumatic Major (Blue Diamond clip, medium-wide ///\\\///\\\ cap band.)
Manufacturer and Year Parker USA - late 1940s (barrel is unmarked; nib is marked with a 5 3 and two dots). We doubt if the pen is from 1953, though they did make them that late in Canada. The nib is probably a replacement of the original 1940s nib.
Length 5-1/8"
Filling System Vacumatic filling system, restored here at PSP and guaranteed for a year from the date of purchase.
Color Black with gold plated trim and a blue diamond clip. Black cap jewel.
Nib FINE 14k Parker nib.
Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a shiny black pen in a classic design and with outstanding barrel transparency. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and by posting. It otherwise has light to some areas with moderate scratching, particularly the blind cap that has some small deeper scratch marks. The cap has light scratching. The decorated cap band has microscratching and a tiny bit of pitting in the upper ridge. The clip has plating wear on the arrow end but no brassing. The blue diamond is excellent. The top cap jewel is excellent. The imprints are clear.
