Product Description
Type Vac filling vintage fountain pen
Product Name Vacumatic prototype, very uncommon. This model is shown on Page 68 of the Lambrou "Fountain Pens of the World" book and identified as a prototype. There's another theory that suggests it was a collaboration between Parker and Diamond Medal.
Manufacturer and Year Parker USA -- 1930s? (no imprint or date code)
Length 5-1/8".
Filling System Vacumatic aluminum lockdown plunger filling system has been restored here at Peyton Street Pens and is in excellent working condition. The bladder has been replaced and the pen has been tested.
Color Green striped. Stripes run lengthwise down the pen, rather than horizontally around the pen. Black section and two narrow cap bands. Black blind cap. There is a black jewel on each end and the trim is gold plated.
Nib FINE Flexible 14k nib. Please see writing sample, below.
Condition Excellent condition. The barrel transparency is very strong and the color is bright and unblemished. The clip looks good, just some microscratching and handwear. The cap bands have some wear. The cap jewel has a bit of wear at the very top, almost like a burn mark. The barrel has scratches on it in one spot, almost as though someone deliberately removed the imprint. No imprint. The barrel is personalized with "G. L. Nye".
