Product Description
Type Fountain Pen
Product Name Parker VP (VP stands for Very Personal)
Manufacturer and Year Parker, USA -- 1962-64.
Length 5-9/16"
Filling System Takes Parker cartridges or the unique Parker VP converter. This converter is unique to this model and has a very thin neck which is prone to cracking. The converter was damaged when we received the pen, and we repaired the damage. In doing so, the glue that we used picked up some residual ink, and is now colored blue, and is visible when you open up the pen. (We understand Ron Zorn of Main Street Pens makes a replacement converter for this model.)
Color This pen came in four colors with two cap variants. This is the black and gold version. The cap is marked 1/10 12k GF. Pearlescent jewels on cap and end of barrel.
Nib Large semi-hooded 14k nib. It is labeled 66 which identifies it as a medium. These nibs were made to work for any writing angle and include a reference ring on the collar.
Condition Excellent condition. Some microscratching on the barrel. The cap has little spots of plating loss in the lined grooves, which you can see in the photo below; the closeup pictures really magnify these spots, they're much less noticeable in hand. Both jewels are in excellent condition. The cap imprints are clear. No cracks, scratches, chips, or dents.
