Product Description
Type Fountain Pen
Product Name IBIS Gunther-Wagner
Manufacturer and Year Pelikan, Germany -- 1949 - 1954
Length 4-11/16" (this pen is more like the IBIS 130 in terms of length, but it is not marked 130)
Filling System Piston filling system, restored by Pelikan expert Rick Propas. We have also tested it and and it's working very well.
Color Velvety black with 1/2" green viewing window. Gold plated trim.
Nib Oblique Medium CN (chromium-nickel) flexible nib. It's marked "OM" near the piston knob. The nib has an interesting configuration on it to facilitate the flexibility (the curved cuts emanating from the breather hole), but we do see stress lines stretching horizontally from the ends of those cuts. These are also visible in the nib closeup photo. It flexes really easily, but you should also take care not to push it too far, as we cannot be responsible for any damage associated with doing so. See the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a velvety black, shiny pen that is small and rounded. The barrel has light to moderate microscratching. There is an "OM" engraved above the piston knob. The green viewing window is clean and clear. The cap has light to moderate scratching with most of the marks to the left of the clip and along the cap lip. The clip has some dots of pitting on the face, and there is brassing and some plating wear on the clip ring. The cap band has brassing and some plating wear along the edges. The imprint at the top of the cap, "Ibis Gunther Wagner Germany" is clear.
