Product Description
Type Multicolor ballpoint pen
Product Name 4 X 1 or Vierfarb Kugelschreiber ("four-color ballpoint pen"). This was a promotional pen for the Parker Hannifin company.
Manufacturer and Year Pelikan, Germany -- 1970s. We found some Pelikan catalogs from the 1970s and see this type of pen in catalogs during that period.
Length 5-3/8"
Filling System Takes small metal international ballpoint refills, formally designated "D1"; our friends at JetPens have some information on these here. What are probably the original refills are currently installed. The pen mechanism works by choosing which color you want from the color windows at the top of the pen, rotating the pen so that the desired color faces upward, and then pushing down on the button.
Color Black barrel and knock, and a brushed stainless steel upper portion. Narrow shiny "cap band" with the Pelikan imprint.
Condition Excellent + condition. There is scratching and handwear on the lower plastic portion of the pen, and some tiny marks are visible under magnification in the brushed silver cap. The top button and clip ring have some small scratches. The gold paint in the company name and logo is in good shape. The imprints are clear.
