Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Unknown model.
Manufacturer and Year Pick Pen Co., Cincinnati, Ohio. They made pens from 1920 to 1933, and since this model seems vaguely Balance-like, we are guessing this pen is from the later years.
Length 5-3/8" long and plump, with a barrel diameter of 1/2".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working well.
Color Black with gold plated trim and two thin cap bands.
Nib FLEXIBLE MEDIUM-FINE gold Pick #6 nib is smooth with nice tipping material. The line varies from fine to a modest broad with a little pressure. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. Light to moderate scratching all over. No cracks or deep scratches. The top of the cap and end of the barrel both have moderate scratching. The clip has brassing at the top of the clip and around the ball end. The cap bands have brassing along their edges. The lever bar has brassing and pitting at the end. The nib has a scratch or toolmark at the base, starting below the "U" in USA. We've carefully inspected and tested it, and it's performing well. The imprints are strong and clear.
