Product Description
Type Early pocket fountain pen aka "long-short".
Product Name Generally called a mini or pocket pen. The barrel is marked Platinum 200.
Manufacturer and Year Platinum, made in Japan -- probably made in the 1960s based on the clip style.
Length 4-5/8" capped, 5-7/8" posted
Filling System It takes Platinum cartridges. Converters do not fit, though there's an interesting post on FPN here showing how to adapt a Platinum converter for use in the long-short pens..
Color Brsuhed stainless steel, black section.
Nib SOFT FINE Platinum 18k gold nib is smooth with nice tipping material and somewhat springy. The nib is in excellent condition. There's a bit of a gap between nib and feed, so you may need to experiment with inks for optimal performance. We had very good ink flow using Pelikan 4001 black.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks, or personalization. No scratches, just light handwear and a few spots on the barrel piece. There's one spot on the clutch ring where the plating flaked off showing the brass undeneath (see photo). It's working very well.
