Manufacturer and Year Platinum, Japan -- relatively recent. Platinum calls it its flagship model.

Filling System Comes with a Platinum converter, and it will also take Platinum cartridges.
Color Dark red "akatame" urushi with gold plated trim. The color is a very dark red over the majority of the pen's body, with the brighter red undercoats showing near edges. Over time, more of the red will be revealed. It has rounded ends and the shape is similar to the Platinum 3776 but with a different clip.
Nib Fine two-toned 18k nib. It is labeled F. Japanese nibs run fine so this is similar to a western extra fine nib. The nib looks very clean and the imprint and masking are in great condition.
Condition Mint condition in box. No signs that the pen was ever inked. Ships in a green velvet-lined wooden box, protected by a mulberry paper outer box. The pen is contained in a green fabric "kimono". There is also a scroll of fountain pen paper in the box.
