Type Classic style fountain pen
Product Name Platinum Urushi.
Manufacturer and Year Platinum, Japan -- probably from the 1990s. This is not the current Izumo model.
Length 6" long.
Filling System Comes with a Platinum converter, and it will also take Platinum cartridges.
Color Red "tamenuri" urushi with gold plated trim. The color is a red over the majority of the pen's body, with the brighter red undercoats showing near edges. Over time, more of the red will be revealed. It has rounded ends and the shape is similar to the Platinum 3776 but with a different clip.
Nib Medium 18k nib. Japanese nibs run fine so this is similar to a western fine nib. The nib looks very clean and the imprint and masking are in great condition. (We have another one of these pens which has a 14k nib, and we're not sure which nib actually came with these pens!)
Condition Near mint condition, in Platinum box. No scratches or marks on the cap or barrel. We found no signs that the pen was ever inked. Some light polishing marks on the clip.
