Type Fountain pen
Product Name Fahrney’s 2009 Cherry Blossom made by Retro 51, this is the fourth Farhney's Cherry Blossom pen design.
Manufacturer and Year Retro 51, the company is in the USA but it uses Schmidt nibs (from Germany) and the rest of the components are manufactured in Taiwan -- 2009 .
Length 5-1/16"
Filling System Takes international style cartridges and converters. An unused cartridge or two will be included with the pen. Standard converters are too long. The Monteverde mini converter does fit but it the one we tested doesn't stay installed. Kaweco squeeze converters may work.
Color Stamps inspired by the earlier Cherry Blossom pens were printed and lacquered onto the pen. Each pen has the Fahrney's stamp and then one additional one. This makes each pen unique. All the fountain pens have the Jefferson Memorial stamp. It has silver colored trim.
Nib Broad steel nib, very smooth. It is marked Schmidt Broad.
Condition Near Mint condition. The pen is shiny and glossy. The imprints are easy to read and the pen looks new. It ships in a metal tube in a cardboard box with paperwork describing the Cherry Blossom series. The pen works well. The black "a" in the Fahrney's on the cap was a stray piece of material and not a pitting mark.
