Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name 600 (2nd version, identified by less deep knurling than the first and third versions). Not the Newton or Levenger version.
Manufacturer and Year Rotring, made in Germany (Though this pen isn't marked as to country of manufacture, it's our understanding that all true 600 pens were made in Germany, and only the pencil production occurred in Japan.)
Length 5-1/2".
Filling System Cartridge/converter filling system. An empty cartridge is included in the pen.
Color Matte black with red writing and a red trim band around the top of the cap. Gold flat end piece on the top of the cap.
Nib FINE 18k nib. Marked on end of barrel by a sticker and indicated on top piece of cap.
Condition Near mint condition with a crack near the end of the barrel (manufacturing flaw common to many if not most of these 600s). Comes in Rotring cardboard tube that includes paperwork. This is a classic Rotring, industrial-looking pen that has a scientific aura. The cap and barrel are perfect. The chasing on the grip and on the top piece of the cap is fully intact. The red writing and band are perfect. The imprints are clear.
These pens are famous for developing cracks toward the end of the barrel and this one is no exception. Please see the photo below.
