Product Description
Type Hexagonal Mechanical Pencil Pen
Product Name Rotring 600 Trio, the original version, not to be mistaken for the Rotring Trio or the Rotring 600 3-in-1.
Manufacturer and Year Rotring (designed in Germany; assembled in Japan), first version made in the 1990s. There's a remnant of "Japan" on the clip band.
Length 5-7/8" including the knock.
Filling System Multi Pen! - this one has 2 slots for mini D1 ballpoint refills, and one spot for the mechanical pencil. It also uses gravity (aka "pendulum mechanism") to select which tip you're using. There are two colored dots and the pencil lead size near the top of the barrel, and turn the pen so that your desired selection is facing you. Click the knock, and the correct tip will extend. To retract the tip, twist the knurled knob on the end clockwise and the tip springs back. The tips of the pens have a colored stripe to help confirm the correct color. The pencil unit cannot be replaced with a pen. There is also a small eraser underneath the knock.
Color Matte silver color with a red ring around the end of the barrel, and red lettering. Knurled section.
Condition Very nice condition. This is a sleek, nicely weighted multifunction writing instrument in an industrial design, very collectible. There are small scratches on the body, and dark spots in the knurled section near the tip. The clip has scuff marks on the face. The imprints are clear. In grey/red plastic box.
