Product Description
Type Fountain Pen
Product Name Gatsby
Manufacturer and Year S.T. Dupont, France -- 1980s
Length 5-11/16"
Filling System Takes older S.T. Dupont cartridges and converters or Parker style cartridges and converters. A Parker converter is installed. To access the converter, you need to unscrew the short section, which can be a little tricky because it's hard to get a grip on and possibly messy if the pen is inked. In order to start the section unscrewing, you put the cap on but don't push it on all the way so that it snaps, then turn it and the section will start to unscrew, and you can finish unscrewing it with your fingers.
Color Silver metal with a lengthwise ridged pattern with gold-colored trim. Since it's not hallmarked, it's probably silver plated or palladium. The serial number 58JDJ97 is on the clip.
Nib MEDIUM 18k nib that wraps around the feed. There is a small shallow dent on the right side, possibly a tool mark; we do not believe that this will interfere with the performance of the pen.
Condition Excellent + condition. There aren't any spots that show plating wear and the imprints are very clear. There is some tarnishing in the "valleys" of the grooved design on the cap and barrel. The gold piece on the top of the cap has some light scratching, as well as some tarnish, as does the gold end piece. There's some light handwear and polishing marks. The nib has some light scratching and polishing marks. No box or paperwork.
