Product Description
Type Safety pen in excellent restored condition
Product Name Unknown maker. It is very similar to a Waterman's 42-1/2 V Baby Safety Pen, but the only part that we know is from Waterman is the nib.
Manufacturer and Year Unknown - circa early 1900s. There are hallmarks, but we cannot read them.
Length 3-3/4" capped, 4-15/16" posted. This is an extremely small pen, so please don't purchase it without giving consideration to the size.
Filling System Eyedropper with a safety mechanism. We replaced the seals and repaired a cracked spiral, and we have thoroughly tested the pen. We will guarantee it to be free from leaks for a year from the date of purchase. We found that the spiral was not exactly the same as the Waterman part, so we had to repair the crack.
Color Black hard rubber, with a silver metal overlay on the cap and barrel. There are two tiny hallmarks on the barrel, but they have worn to the point that we can't interpret them. The overlay has an interesting lined pattern engraved on the surface.
Nib MEDIUM Waterman's gold nib.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks. This is a very small pen with an intriguing filling and safety mechanism. The color of the hard rubber is a nice deep black, and there is only light scratching on the surface. The overlay on the cap has scattered dots of pitting and several dents around the top edge. The barrel overlay also has tiny dots of pitting and one tiny dent.
