Product Description
Type | Fountain Pen |
Product Name | Sheaffer 500 aka the "Dolphin." This is the touchdown version. |
Manufacturer and Year | Sheaffer - early 1960s |
Length | 5-1/4" |
Filling System |
Touchdown system. Fully restored with a new O-ring and sac. |
Color | Black with a brushed chrome cap and shiny chrome trim. Squared ends. |
Nib |
Medium steel nib. The nib gives the pen its dolphin name, and it's a variation of the inlaid nibs Sheaffer was putting on the Imperials. The pen doesn't have a real inlaid nib, but instead one which is flat, inserted straight into the front of the section. |
Condition |
Very nice condition with some lighter scratching on the body and cap (see photos below). There's a little damage to the plating on the clip, just in the "Sheaffer's" imprint. It's a bit worn, but still quite nice, and a good example of one of these strangely shaped Sheaffer pens. |
