Filling System The fountain pen is cartridge/converter filling system, however the only converter we found that would fit was the hard-to-find button converter (we have installed one and will include it with the set). The pencil takes 0.9mm leads and uses a twist mechanism. There is a fully intact eraser beneath the cap and a few leads in the barrel.
Color Black with squared ends and gold plated trim. They have 1/4" cap bands and wide clips.
Nib MEDIUM 14k nib (unhallmarked). It is nicknamed the "Dolphin" nib based off of the hump at the base of the nib. It is a faux-inlaid nib. There is a chalk mark on the barrel indicating the nib size. There is also a small label indicating catridge filling system.
Condition New condition, in Sheaffer's box, with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a velvety black, shiny pen and pencil set, in a classic design pattern. The fountain pen has capping marks on the section. The barrel is in beautiful condition, with original chalk marks showing model number, filling system, nib size, and price. It also has a small label indicationg that it is "cartridge". The mechanical pencil has light microscratching on the cap and barrel but is otherwise perfect. The barrel has the original $5.00 chalk mark. All imprints on both pieces, are clear.
