Product Name This is a short model from the Balance line, with a #5 Feather Touch nib.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1931-35.
Length This pen is on the shorter side, 4-11/16 inches, though it has the girth of the full sized Balance pens.
Filling System Lever filling system. We replaced the sac and tested the pen thoroughly, it's working well.
Color Marine Green color with gold plated trim, the short round ball humped clip, and a thin cap band.
Nib FINE Sheaffer's Feather Touch #5 gold nib is two-tone, with no masking wear but some light cosmetic scratching on the top of the nib. It's smooth with nice tipping material, and has a soft feeling (but no real flex or line variation).
Condition Very nice condition. No chips, dings, dents, or personalization. There are two small tight cracks in the cap lip, both of which stop short at the cap band, so we don't expect them to spread (though we advise against posting this cap). There's just a touch of brassing on the ball of the clip, and some light scratching and handwear on the cap adn barrel. The imprint is very readable (see photos). We've fully restored the pen and it's working very well.
