Product Name This pen is from the Balance series, It does not have a number, and is not a Lifetime (White Dot) model. The pencil has a number 350 on the cap.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1940-42.
Length Pen is 4-3/4 inches long. Pencil is 4-3/4" long.
Filling System Vac-fill. We've restored it and it's working well. The pencil takes 0.9mm leads.
Color The pen is black with a solid color cap and a transparently black and amber striped barrel. The pencil is all black. Both have flat ball humped style clip.
Nib FINE Sheaffer's #5 Feather Touch 14k two-tone gold nib.
Condition Very nice condition. This is a classic little pen and pencil set with both pieces working well. For the fountain pen: The barrel has excellent transparency. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and moderate scratching with the heaviest scratching toward the twist end. The cap has a lot of wear between the cap band and the cap lip. It has moderate scratching with deep scratch marks at the top of the cap (they resemble cracks). The cap band looks great; the clip has plating wear. The mechanical pencil has moderate to heavy scratching with lots of small deep scratches on the cap portion of the pencil (resembling bite marks).
