Condition Excellent condition with no chips, dents, or dings. This is a dark and richly colored pen that is shiny and beautiful. The cap and barrel have light signs of usage with some faint long scratches on both. There is a 3" long scratch on the barrel. No cracks or chips, which is remarkable (see below note). The cap bands have light microscratching with more moderate microscratching along the lower edge. The clip has light microscratching. The white dot is perfect. The imprints are clear. Ships in the Sheaffer Special Edition red box, with the SE clip tag, though the label says "ballpoint" and not "fountain pen."
Please note that this pen is extremely hard to find without any cracks. We strongly suggest that you treat this pen even more gently than you treat the rest of your fine pen collection. Be especially careful with the clip and the cap. Do not pull on the clip, or the stress will cause a crack. Similarly, the cap lip will crack very easily if the cap is posted.
