Type vintage fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Balance Lifetime, standard full size. It would have cost $10.00 which makes it also a 1000.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1937-42, the color was introduced in 1937, the filling system and clip were introduced in 1935.
Length 5-7/16 inches. This is a full size pen, but it is not the fat oversized model.
Filling System Vac-filler. We've fully restored it and it's working very well.
Color Green striated celluloid cap and barrel with gold-plated trim and a late Balance clip generally called a radius clip.
Nib FINE two-tone 14k gold Sheaffer's Lifetime nib is smooth and firm with nice tipping material. There is a slight dent on the left tine of the nib. The masking is excellent.
Condition Superior condition. No cracks in the cap lip, but it should be noted that these striated Balances crack easily, so the cap should not be posted. There's some light wear on the barrel and handwear on the cap and barrel. The barrel has some microscratching from capping. There's very little plating wear and the imprint is clear. The barrel transparency is perfect with no ambering. The pen has been fully restored and is working very well.
