Product Description
Type Snorkel fountain pen and pencil set in a hard to find color
Product Name Clipper Snorkel
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in U.S.A. -- 1952-59.
Length Pen is 5-1/2", pencil is just over 5".
Filling System The fountain pen is a snorkel filler, which is working very well after we restored it with a new sac, O-ring, and point gasket. The pencil takes 0.9mm leads which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism. It's working well, and we'll include a small pack of leads.
Color Sage Green bodies with chrome plated caps and gold plated trim. Sage Green is considered a moderately hard-to-find color, and correct for the Clipper model.
Nib MEDIUM PdAg (Palladium-Silver) Sheaffer's Triumph style nib is smooth and firm with nice tipping material. The nib has a slight "Waverly" upturn.
Condition Excellent + condition for this beautiful set in a rare-ish color. The fountain pen has very light wear on the barrel and cap -- difficult to see on the barrel because of the color of the pen. No cracks, chips, dents or personalization. The mechanical pencil is similarly excellent all-around. No cracks, chips, dings, or dents. The imprints are clear.
