Product Description
Type Touchdown filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Craftsman.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1950s.
Length 5-1/8 inch.
Filling System Touchdown filling system. We've restored it with a new sac and o-ring and it's working very well. We'll include instructions on how to fill this pen.
Color Burgundy body and cap with gold plated trim and a thin wire cap band.
Nib MEDIUM Sheaffer's #33 nib is 14k gold. It's smooth and firm, with excellent tipping material. There is a bit of light that shines through the slit, but the contact is very good with the tines and it writes well.
Condition Very Nice condition, the pen has some scrape marks to the left of the cap. The imprint is still clear. The plating is thin on the clip. It looks brassed in the photographs, but without magnification you can't tell. This pen would make a nice daily user. No cracks, dents, or major scratches. The pen has been fully restored and it's working very well. The touchdown mechanism feels a bit tight when the knob is turned and pulled, but the suction is very strong.
