Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a rich brown tortoiseshell pen set that is elegant and beautiful and shiny. The fountain pen looks fantastic with just some light microscratching on the trim, cap band, and clip. Due to a loose inner barrel, which we could not remedy, it has some idiosyncracies that require special handling to take the cap off and to unscrew the section:
- To remove the cap, you need to hold the barrel end finial in place when you turn the cap.
- It is equally tricky to open the pen to gain access to the filling system. Holding the barrel threads and twisting the section allows easy access.
- We have priced the pen with this in mind.
The ballpoint pen has light microscratching on the body as well as the trim pieces, cap band, cone, and clip. The white dots are perfect. The imprints are clear.
