Type Fountain pen and ballpoint desk set
Product Name S14 Desk Set.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1970s (This is similar to some of the models in a May 1973 Sheaffer desk set catalog, helpfully archived here by the wonderful Pen Collectors of America, but we can't find this specific one. We found a 1976 catalog and the numbering scheme seems different, so we think this is from the first half of the decade.)
Length The base measures 7-1/2" by 4" by 3/4"" and each pen is 6-7/8" long.
Filling System The fountain pen has a Sheaffer squeeze converter installed, and regular Sheaffer cartridges will also fit. The ballpoint takes Sheaffer "K" style refills.
Color Pens are gold-plated, with White Dots. The base is a large slab of heavy polished Spanish onyx, lovely brown and white variegation. Felt bottom, and gold colored sockets.
Nib MEDIUM 14k Inlaid nib with V-cutout on the fountain pen, with lots of tipping material.
Condition New Old Stock. Both pens have some small marks from storage, but are otherwise perfect. The felt bottom is perfect, and the model number sticker is also present and unblemished. The box also contains a blank gold name plate, ready for personalization, and a box of blue Sheaffer Skrip cartridges. No cracks or chips, dings, dents, or personalization. Great find for your pen-loving geologist bestie!
