Product Description
Type | Fountain Pen with a small amount of cosmetic damage |
Product Name | Imperial III (it's not marked, but this appears to be the correct model based on our research. See info below on the nib, which is a bit different than we have been led to expect on an Imperial III.) |
Manufacturer and Year | Sheaffer - 1960s |
Length | 5-3/8" capped |
Filling System |
Touchdown (vacuum) filling system - in perfect working order with excellent suction ... it makes that nice "whoosh" sound. The O-ring has recently been replaced. |
Color |
The body and cap are plastic. The trim (clip, cap ring) are gold plated. |
Nib | Conical Triumph nib, not marked, silver-colored. Very smooth. (Please note that my research indicates the Imperial III should have a two-tone Triumph nib, which results from a partial masking of the steel by gold plate. This nib is all steel, and seems to be the same great, wet nib they put on the Imperial IIs.) |
Condition BRAND NEW OLD STOCK FROM THE 1960s! |
This pen is new old stock from the 1960s. It has never been used and the pen has never been inked. It is less than perfect due to some cosmetic damage picked up in storage. There will be a few light marks on the plastic, and/or some flaking of the gold plated trim. Not returnable for a full refund if the pen has been filled with ink. Of course, if we determine the pen is defective, we'll give you a full refund, whether it's been inked or not. |
