Product Name Model #879, Sheaffer Levenger Balance II Special Edition from the revival series of the 1930s Balance pens. Though it was produced for Levenger, it does not say "Levenger" anywhere on the pen.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1997-99.
Length 5-3/4 inches.
Filling System Takes Sheaffer style cartridges, or you can fill it with bottled ink via the included piston converter.
Color Olive green and yellow with black and red tones. The acrylic is a bit like the vintage candy stripe patterns. It has a pair of 1/16" cap bands and 22k electroplated trim.
Nib Broad 18k nib. Sheaffer's Feather Touch.
Condition Near mint condition with no cracks, chips, dents, dings or scratches. It has been inked, or perhaps only dipped. This is a large, impressive, uniquely and beautifully colored pen. These Sheaffer Balance II models are very prone to cracking from posting and from pulling on the clip. This pen has no cracks. The trim is lovely. The material is consistently semi-transparent. All imprints are clear.
