Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Lifetime, the early style called a "Flat Top" by collecters. This is a smaller junior size flat top with a white dot on the top of its cap.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1920s.
Length 4-1/2".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black and Pearl pen. This is a mix of black and a pearlescent white, and the color is very consistent. The white is a cream color that ambers over time, but this pen has excellent color. It has a 1/8" cap band and gold filled trim. The clip has a flat ball end and a hump. There is a personalization on the barrel, "Catherine E. Poteet".
Nib MEDIUM 14k Sheaffer Lifetime nib.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a small, beautifully colored pen, with "pearl" areas that have naturally but only slightly ambered. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and moderate to some heavy scratching. There is one long scratch to the far right of the lever. The barrel has a personalization, "Catherine E. Poteet". The lever has some scratches at the top as well as pitting. The cap has moderate scratching with a few areas of heavier marks (alongside the clip). The cap band has moderate microscratching and two small dots of plating wear. The clip has plating wear along the edges of the flat ball end and light microscratching elsewhere. The imprint is faint but readable.
