Length Fountain pen is 3-3/4", and pencil is 3-1/2", not including ringtop hardwear.
Filling System Lever filler - working perfectly, restored and guaranteed for one year. Pencil is traditional twist mechanism (turn top of pencil). Lead is "thick", .046" or 1.1mm.
Color Gold-filled cap and barrel with a rare "Coral Butterfly" painted design.
Nib FINE FLEXIBLE Sheaffer's gold nib, marked Self-Filling and -2-, in excellent condition with good tipping material, and a fair bit of flex from fine to double-broad. A small crack off the breather hole. See our writing sample.
Condition Excellent + condition considering age a fragility of painted design. The fountain pen has handwear and shows signs of use. Some of the design has flaked or chipped off, which is common in these hand-panted pens, but it is largely intact and looks great. The gold parts of the surface look good; there are portions which almost look like the plating is flaking away, but it's actually the clear lacquer. No dents or dings. The pencil also looks great, with the same sort of flaking as the pen though not quite as bad. The ringtop hardware on both pieces is in excellent condition.
