Product Description
Type Collectible and highly usable fountain pen with snorkel filling system, in very good working condition.
Product Name PFM ("Pen For Men") -- this is version one
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, USA -- 1959 is the first year of production.
Length 5-3/8"
Filling System The snorkel works in combination with the Touchdown filling system. You unscrew the knob to extend the snorkel, pull out the piston, immerse it in ink, and push the piston down. Wait 10 seconds and allow the bladder to expand and pull the ink in. Then screw the knob to retract the snorkel, and you are good to go. No need to wipe ink off of anything!
We restored the filling system and tested it for leaks. We replaced the O-ring in the barrel as well as the ink sac and point gasket.
Color Burgundy with chrome trim
Nib EXTRA FINE PdAg nib. Very smooth. The nib is in excellent condition with a nice round tip and minimal signs of wear. Excellent ink flow.
Condition Very nice with no cracks or chips. There's a fair amount of hand and desk wear, so both the plastic and the trim are a lttle dull. Visible light scratches on the squared ends. The imprint looks very good.
