Type Collectible Snorkel Filling System Fountain Pen and Mechanical Pencil Set
Product Name PFM II
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer USA -- 1960
Length Fountain Pen: 5-3/8"; Mechanical Pencil: 5-1/16"
Filling System The PFM II uses a snorkel filling system. The filling system has been restored with a new sac, point gasket and o-ring. The snorkel works in combination with the Touchdown filling system. Unscrew the knob to extend the snorkel, pull out the piston, immerse the tip of the snorkel in ink, and push the piston down. Wait 10 seconds to allow the bladder to expand and pull the ink in. Then screw the knob to retract the snorkel. No need to wipe ink off of anything. The filling system works well with excellent suction. The mechanical pencil takes 0.9mm leads, which extend and retract by twisting the top half of the pencil. A packet of leads will be included.
Color Burgundy with Steel Caps. White dots on top of clips. Both pieces have original chalk marks on the barrel.
Nib FINE PdAg long diamond nib
Condition Excellent + condition. This is a nice, shiny pen and pencil set, in executive styling, and in a good color. The fountain pen has marks on the section and barrel caused by the cap lip. Otherwise, the barrel has only light scratching. It still has the original chalk mark on it that is visible, "PFM II/Fine/$12.50". The cap looks shiny; it has light microscratching. The clip has some small scratches on the surface. The white dot looks good. The mechanical pencil shows similar wear to the pen. The burgundy body still has the chalk mark that reads "PFM-II/$5.00". The cap looks great with no shiny marks or cross-scratches to the brushed surface. There are some small scratch marks on the clip. The white dot looks good. The imprints on both pieces are clear. The box is in excellent condition, with just a few dents on the outer surface. The original price tag is present, as are the instructions beneath the pad.
