Product Description
Type Collectible Snorkel Filling System Fountain Pen
Product Name PFM II, this is the second version of "Pen for Men" pens.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer USA -- 1959, first year of production.
Length 5-3/8"
Filling System The PFM II uses a snorkel filling system. The snorkel works in combination with the Touchdown filling system. Unscrew the knob to extend the snorkel, pull out the piston, immerse the tip of the snorkel in ink, and push the piston down. Wait 10 seconds to allow the bladder to expand and pull the ink in. Then turn the knob to retract the snorkel. No need to wipe ink off of anything. The filling system works well with excellent suction. Restored with a new sac, o-ring and point gasket.
Color Green with brushed stainless steel cap. The majority of the cap has a brushed or "frosted" finish and the cap lip is polished to give the appearance of a cap band.
Nib Medium PdAg (Palladium Silver) nib. It writes smoothly and is quite soft. Palladium springs easily so be careful not to push the nib too hard. It has nice tipping.
Condition Excellent condition for this substantial, handsome, shiny pen. The section and barrel have light handwear throughout with more moderate scratching where the barrel meets the section and at the end of the barrel. The cap has some microscratching near the edge, but its appearance is shiny and smooth overall. No cracks, chips, dents, or dings. The imprint is clear.
