Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen
Product Name Sheaffer Sentinel Snorkel
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, USA -- 1950s.
Length 5-1/2"
Filling System Snorkel filler. It's been restored with a new sac, o-ring, and point gasket. It's working very well.
Color Black body with stainless steel cap. The cap has a gold filled cap band and clip and the steel has a lined pattern. The cap plus the two-toned nib is what identifies this pen as a "Sentinel" and the color with "Jet Black."
Nib Needle-fine 14k two-tone Triumph style "accountant" nib. It's marked "A5" on the back of the nib. It is smooth and has a slight upturn at the tip. There are some toolmarks on the side of the nib, but that does not affect writing.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks, chips, dents, or personalization. Some plating loss on the section threads. Microscratching, but no major scratches. The barrel imprint is smoothed out a bit, but still easily readable. Cap looks good though it is a little dull from wear. Some brassing on the cap band. The pen and snorkel mechanism are working well.
