Filling System The fountain pen is a snorkel filler, which is working very well after we restored it with a new sac, O-ring, and point gasket. The pencil takes 0.9mm leads which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism. It's working well.
Color Grey bodies with chrome plated caps and gold plated trim.
Nib FINE 14k gold Sheaffer's Triumph style nib is smooth and firm with nice tipping material. The nib has a gentle "Waverly" upturn.
Condition Excellent condition. There are some slight marks and microscratching on the caps and barrels, as well as some minor marks on the pen's barrel. No chips, dings, or plating wear on either pen or pencil. The pen cap has some small dents at its tip above the white dot in a golf ball pattern. The pen is fully restored, and both pen and pencil are working very well. The nib is very shiny and looks fantastic. Both the pen and pencil imprints are crisp and legible. The pen is personalized with the text, "Arthur A. Parris Capt. Officers USS Dixie AD-14," and the pencil is personalized with the text, "Arthur A. Parris Capt. USN." (Parris was Executive Officer of the ship from 1959 to 1960 and then became Commanding Officer.)
