Product Description
Type Snorkel fountain pen and pencil set in a hard to find color
Product Name Sentinel Snorkel
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in U.S.A. -- 1952-59.
Length Pen is 5-1/2", pencil is just over 5".
Filling System The fountain pen is a snorkel filler, which is working very well after we restored it with a new sac, O-ring, and point gasket. The pencil takes 0.9mm leads which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism. It's working well, and we'll include a small pack of leads.
Color Peacock Blue bodies with chrome plated caps and gold plated trim. Peacock Blue is considered a hard-to-find color, and correct for the Sentinel model.
Nib FINE 14k Sheaffer's Triumph style nib is marked F5, and is smooth and firm with nice tipping material. The nib has a slight "Waverly" upturn.
Condition Excellent + condition for this beautiful set in a rare color. The fountain pen has very light wear on the barrel and cap. The imprint is crisp and clear. No cracks, chips, dents or personalization. There's a little wear on the plated threads that secure the cap. The mechanical pencil is similarly excellent all-around. No cracks, chips, dings, or dents. The imprints are clear. Ships in vintage Sheaffer Snorkel box
