Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer created the Vacuum-Fil sub-brand in the late 1930s. They tried out their new vacuum filling system on this model before offering it on the Balance pens.

Filling System Vacuum Filler. Restored with new seals. We will send instructions on how to use the filling system. Here's a video we posted on Instagram showing the filling system in action.
Nib EXTRA-FINE original "Vacuum Fil" gold nib.
Color The barrel top and end are black, with a clear greenish-yellow central portion. The cap is black. Gold plated trim.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a uniquely designed fountain pen in a dark, velvety black that is very shiny. The barrel has marks from the cap lip and light scratching with slightly more moderate scratching on the black section at the end of the barrel. The greenish-yellow viewing section of the barrel has very good transparency and light scratching. The cap has moderate scratching near the top and light scratching elsewhere. The cap band has moderate microscratching and a few dots of plating wear. The clip has light microscratching. The imprints are clear.
