Type Fountain pen and ballpoint with base
Product Name TR3 Desk Set. The TR3 refers to the base. The label on the box also says 0040000 and 406-0390 and we don't know which correlates to the set. The ballpoint is named B5 and the fountain pen is named P6.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer USA -- 1970s.
Length Both pens measure 6-7/8". The rectangular base is 10-5/8" by 3-9/16" and just over 3/4" deep.
Filling System The ballpoint pen takes Sheaffer ballpoint refills. A working blue refill is installed. The fountain pen takes Sheaffer-style cartridges or converters, and comes with a squeeze converter installed.
Nib The fountain pen has a 14k V-inlay medium nib
Color The pens are dark brown with white dots and gold plated trim. The base is travertine, which is a type of limestone, but the base is called a "Travertine Marble Base."
Condition Near Mint. The set has original stickers on the pen bodies and a perfect looking base. The pens look almost mint but the ballpoint has a scratch on it it. The set ships in original box with two long feathers. An original Sheaffer label is still on the base. The box is a little shop worn.
