Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen with a restored filling system
Product Name Sovereign II (part of the Triumph line with a conical #79 Lifetime nib and a white dot). It's often mistaken for the Craftsman, because of the similar wire cap band, but this is a white dot model.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA - circa earlier 1940s
Length Just barely under 5".
Filling System Lever filler. We replaced the sac and it's working well.
Color Grey pearl striated with chrome plated trim and a thin wire cap band.
Nib FINE two tone 14k Sheaffer Lifetime Triumph style nib marked #79. It's in great condition, smooth and firm with nice tipping and hardly any wear in its masking.
Condition Very nice condition. There are a couple of tiny gaps in the celluloid at the top of the cap where the striated layers merge, and these small fissures are nearly a given on this model. There's light scratching on the cap and barrel, some brassing and wear on the clip and wire cap band (see photos), and just one tiny spot of wear on the very edge of the lever which also shows a few small scratches. No cracks in the cap lip or the barrel threads. The imprint is quite clear. It's fully restored and working well.
