Product Name Triumph Touchdown, probably considered a Statesman.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA. The fat (non-TM) Touchdown version came out in 1949 and they ceased to call the pen line "Triumph" ... this might have been considered a Statesman.
Length 5-1/4 inches.
Filling System Touchdown filling system. We've restored it with a new sac and O-ring, and the pen is working very well.
Color Black with a 1/4 inch wide gold cap band.
Nib FINE Sheaffer's 14k gold Triumph style two-tone nib with a serial number, 0860635. The silver colored masking is platinum. It's smooth and firm with nice tipping material. The nib has a nice waverly upturn.
Condition Excellent condition for this handsome, stately pen in a basic black color that works for any occasion. The barrel has light scratching. The blind cap has some light tooth marks. The cap has light wear. The cap band and clip have light plating wear, but no brassing. The white dot above the clip looks good. There are no cracks or dents. The imprints are clear.
