Type Small size vintage vac-fil fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Tuckaway. Statesman model. We're not 100% confident in the model identification ... most of the Statesmans have open nibs, but the Triumph nib is consistent with with white dot on the cap.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1940s.
Length Just barely over 4-1/2 inches.
Filling System Vac-Fil filling system. We've restored and tested it, it's working very well.
Color Black with gold plated trim and a 1/4" wide cap band. White dot.
Nib FINE two-tone Triumph 14k gold nib is firm and smooth with nice tipping material. Some of the masking is fading away, but the silver and gold areas are still well-defined.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, personalization, or plating wear. The blind cap has tooth marks. The barrel has light to moderate scratching. The cap threads are perfect, with no plating wear or brassing. The section looks great. The cap band has tiny touches of brassing, as does the open end of the clip. The top of the cap has some small tooth marks. The imprint is clear and readable. The pen is fully restored and working well.
