Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- circa 1949 (that was the year they made Tuckaways with the touchdown system, but they ended production shortly after).
Length The pen is 4-11/16 inches, the pencil is 4-1/16 inches.
Filling System The pen is a touchdown filler, which we have restored with a new sac and o-ring, it's working well. The pencil takes 0.9mm leads, and we'll include a small pack of extra leads for it. Its eraser is still installed, though it is almost completely used up.
Color Brown bodies with gold plated trim and a white dot on the pen.
Nib MEDIUM-FINE Sheaffer's two-tone 14k gold nib is smooth and firm with nice tipping material.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, personalization, or plating wear. There are a few tiny scratches on the pen, a very minor warp in its cap, and a minor groove toward the end of its barrel from the cap being posted. The pencil shows some scratching and wear on its barrel and cap, and some microscratching on its trim, but no real plating wear. Both pen and pencil are working very well, and we've restored the pen. They ship in their vintage Sheaffer's gift box.
