Type Touchdown filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Valiant - this is the later TM (Thin Model) version. The music nib is what makes this pen rare.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1950-52.
Length 5-3/8 inches.
Filling System Touchdown filling system. We've restored it with a new sac and O-ring, and the pen is working very well.
Color Solid burgundy with a 3/8 inch wide cap band with a groove near either edge of it.
Nib Sheaffer's 14k gold Triumph style two-tone nib is a MUSIC NIB with two slits and three tines. The pen offers nice line variation. Please see the writing sample below.. The silver colored masking is platinum. It's smooth and springy with nice tipping material. The nib has a nice waverly upturn.
Please note: this is a rare nib and is easily damaged. It was very hard to adjust, and it is now writing smoothly.
Condition Excellent + condition. The pen has light handwear and a few marks. There is a mark to the upper right of the clip and a scratch to the lower left. The barrel is much cleaner with a slight impression at the end from capping. The imprint on the barrel is fairly crisp and clear. The pen has been fully restored and it's working very well. (The clip looks brassed in the photographs but it was just tarnished.)
Full refund will be given if the customer decides to return the pen, however it must be in the exact same condtion as received with no damage or change to the nib.
