Type Touchdown filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Valiant - this is the "Fat" Touchdown version from before the TM models were introduced.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1950, the model officially was produced in 1949-50, but the non-serial numbered nibs are from 1950 on.
Length 5-3/8 inches.
Filling System Touchdown filling system. We've restored it with a new sac and O-ring, and the pen is working very well.
Color Plain black with a 3/8 inch wide cap band with a groove near either edge of it.
Nib FINE Sheaffer's 14k gold Triumph style two-tone nib without a serial number. The silver colored masking is platinum. It's smooth and firm with nice tipping material. The nib has a nice waverly upturn.
Condition Excellent + condition. The pen has consistent handwear with a few bite marks on the blind cap. There are cap marks from both posting and capping on the barrel. The imprint on the barrel is fairly crisp and clear. The pen has been fully restored and it's working very well.
