Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen
Product Name Paper band on barrel says "Safety" but it is a lever filler in the junior size.
Manufacturer and Year Star Pen Co., Cincinnati -- 1920s. We saw some people refer to Star as a rival of Holland and Weidlich pens, but some later Weidlich pens have Star nibs. It is unclear if Star and Weidlich were always the same company or if Weidlich bought Star later on.
Length 4-13/16"
Filling System Lever filler. We've fully restored it with a new sac and it's working well.
Color Black chased hard rubber with silver colored trim (could be nickel or a plated material). The barrel has the original price sticker.
Nib MEDIUM FLEXIBLE 14k Star CIN.0 #2 nib. See writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a dark black, shiny pen with excellent chasing and with vintage styling. The barrel has light scratching under the sticker near the end. The cap has light to moderate scratching. The pen has the original price sticker near the end of the barrel. The lever and clip have a somewhat rough texture. The imprint still has white lettering that makes it stand out.
