Product Description
Type Fountain pen, limited edition, numbered 0470/1618, numbered on the button on the end of the pen.
Product Name Divina Proporzione
Manufacturer and Year Visconti Pen Company, Italy -- 2007 or 2008.
Length 5-7/8" long .... this is probably the "maxi" size which is sometimes measured at 6 inches.
Filling System Push & Pull Touchdown system, which is essentially a vacuum-filling system similar to Sheaffer Touchdown. Press the button on the end of the barrel to release the plunger. Pull back on the plunger until it extends about 1-1/4". Dip the nib into your ink bottle, and press down on the plunger. Hold the pen in the ink bottle for a few seconds, remove the pen from the bottle to wipe away the excess ink, and you are ready to write.
Color Brown celluloid in a lovely burled wood patterened celluloid. The trim is shiny silver colored, with the exception of the lengthwise strips swirling around the barrel and cap - those are sterling silver.
Nib BROAD 18k two-toned nib. It's very smooth.
Condition Near mint condition. The pen looks gorgeous, in a celluloid that really captures the look of burled wood. No cracks, chips, dents, or dings. There is some surface wear on the plunger button, visible under magnification, which does not affect the pen's function. This is a really elegant tribute to the concept of the Golden Ratio.
Please note that when we acquired the pen in a collection, one of the sterling panels had fallen off the pen, and others were loose. We sent it to Visconti where they repaired and replaced the missing panel, so we are confident they are firmly attached now.
