Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen in a hard to find color
Product Name Doric family
Manufacturer and Year Wahl Eversharp, made in USA -- 1931-5 (the color indicates that it was made in those years).
Length 5-3/16 inches. There is a lot of size variation among the Wahl Eversharp pens, and we're not sure if this was considered full size or a junior.
Filling System Lever filler. We've replaced the sac and tested it. It's working very well.
Color Burma Pearl was Wahl's name for this gray and black celluloid pattern. Gold filled trim with a patterned cap band that is about 1/8" wide. (We sometimes see Burma Pearl with white gold trim, but this seems to be regular gold filled.)
Nib FINE FLEXIBLE 14k Warranted #3 nib. (Replacement nib.) See the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks. This is a dark, shiny, faceted pen in a nice looking color pattern. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip as well as moderate scratching and a few small bite marks near the end. The lever has plating wear, but seems to have originally been gold plated. The cap also has moderate scratching with a number of small bite marks near the top. Some of the facet edges have nicks here and there. The cap band has moderate to heavy microscratching with some plating wear on the faceted edges. The clip has plating wear along the edges and microscratching. The imprints are clear.
